What We Strive For

The GCL New Hampshire Chapter focuses on spreading access to coding resources in a technology driven world. With numerous activities and programs specifically targeted towards underrepresented minorities and students who may not have much access to STEM resources, our chapter initiates and partners with other organizations to make STEM fun for students.

New Hampshire Chapter Leader

Rebecca Zhu

“Hi! I’m Rebecca and I am a high school senior at Nashua High School South. This January, I attended MIT Battlecode’s final tournament, consisting of high schoolers, undergrads, and graduate students from around the world. I am interested in ML/AI and its usage in the medical field as well as mobile app development.

Through my GCL initiative, I hope to empower underrepresented minorities into STEM by holding a virtual hackathon, machine learning webinars, and a field day event. The field day event will consist of several stations with hands-on STEM events such as VR and robotics.”

NEW HAMPSHIRE CO-CHAPTER LEADER

Rachael Kim

Hi! My name is Rachael Kim, and I’m originally from South Korea. I’m currently a high school senior at Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, NH. I love computer science, and I lead Girls who Code club at my school. Other than programming, my interests include playing softball and practising the piano. I also love watching sports, like baseball and soccer.

Through GCL, I hope to make computer science more accessible to children of diverse backgrounds, especially those who are traditionally underrepresented minorities in the field of CS.
